Department of Periodontology
Our Department of Periodontology treats patients with poor oral hygiene and helps them restore their oral health. We have been striving to educate the masses about the importance of oral health. With an increase in the life span of the population and several co morbidities that increase the severity of Periodontal disease, we have an opportunity to serve the community. The Department of Periodontology has challenges ahead would be to ensure that the aging population is educated about periodontal health and dental implants.
In addition to our routine procedures, we have performed several special procedures like Connective tissue grafts, Free gingival grafts, Regenerative procedures using bone grafts and GTR membranes.We have also used platelet concentrates for regeneration. We have placed several dental implants in the last academic year.

Dr. Dipika Mitra
Professor & Head
She is an alumni of Nair Hospital and Dental College, Mumbai having completed her graduation and post- graduation from the same institute. Currently a Post – Graduate Guide, Professor & Head in the Dept. with more than 25 years of teaching experience, she is actively involved in research activities having both national and international publications to her credit. She is an examiner for both BDS and MDS examinations. She is a life member of IDA and ISP and is an inspector for Dental Council of India.
Dr. Rohit Shah
Reader
Dr. Rohit holds a post graduate diploma in medico-legal systems from Symbiosis University, Pune in addition to his graduation and post-graduation degrees from Pad. Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College, Navi Mumbai. He has several publications in reputed journals. Currently, he is a reader in the Dept., is on the editorial board of Terna Journal of Dental Sciences and is also the Website co-ordinator for the college.
Dr. Ankit Desai
Reader
He has done his graduation from Sharad Pawar Dental College, Wardha and postgraduation from Pad. Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College, Pune. He has numerous publications in various journals to his credit and currently is a Reader in the Department of Periodontology.
Dr. Silvia Rodrigues
Reader
She is a graduate from Pad. Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College, Pimpri, Pune and a post – graduate from SDM College of Dental Sciences, Dharwad. Currently a reader in the Dept. she is involved in various research projects. She has several international publications to her credit.
Dr. Gaurav Shetty

He is a graduate from SDM Dental College, Dharwad and a post – graduate from AJ Shetty Institute of Dental Sciences. He has numerous publications to his credit and currently working as a lecturer in the Dept. of Periodontology.
Dr. Saurabh Prithyani

He is a graduate from Terna Dental College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai and a post – graduate from Shree Siddhartha Dental College, Tumkur, Karnataka. He has numerous publications to his credit and currently working as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Periodontology.
Dr. Priyanka Potdar Rajpurkar

She is a graduate from MGM Dental College, Navi Mumbai and a post – graduate from Terna Dental College, Navi Mumbai. She is currently working as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Periodontology.
