The focus this year of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
has been a comprehensive approach to better clinical, research and academic interests of students and treatment services rendered to the patients. Orthodontics is one of the fastest growing specialties of dentistry owing to continuous research, improvements and advancements that are transforming it at a rapid rate.

With increasing awareness, the number of people especially adults seeking orthodontic
treatment is on the rise. Our Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
already possesses and utilizes an excellent infrastructure, faculty and teaching material. With an exhaustive waiting list of over 1500 patients there is no shortage of patients with several different types of malocclusions. The department possesses the latest infrastructure  including equipment like the hydrosolders, electro-polisher, vacuum mixer, Hanau articulator, Nemoceph Imaging System capable of Surgical simulation to name a few. All this not only helps the staff, post graduate students and the undergraduate students in their patient care and research activities but also has completely changed the patients perspective towards orthodontic treatment. Use of state of the art equipment and appliances in our department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics ensures that the treatment provided is of the highest standards following stringent aseptic protocols. Several research activities on upcoming materials and techniques were undertaken by the undergraduate, post- graduate students and staff.
